Shandong Great Engineering Detection Co., Ltd. was founded in 1989. Its predecessor was the detection laboratory of the Weihai Highway Bureau Supervision Department. In 1998, Weihai Highway Bureau Supervision Department was restructured into a state owned enterprise and the laboratory was renamed after the Shandong Great Supervision and Consultation Detection Center. In 2009, the center changed its name to its current name and has since been independently providing professional highway and waterway engineering detection and consultation services.

It is located in Weihai Shandong, a beautiful coastal city renowned as "China's Cape of Good Hope".

At present, the company holds Class B test and detection qualifications for highway engineering and waterway engineering materials, granted by the Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China and the China Metrology Accreditation (CMA) granted by Shandong Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau. It is the only company in Weihai that holds the above certifications.

The company also holds the Quality management certificate ISO9001, Environmental Management System Certificate of conformity ISO14001 and Occupational Health and Safety Management System Certification OHSAS 18001.

The company has testing and detection laboratories for cement, cement concrete, asphalt, asphalt mixture, congregates, soil and chemicals. It also has facilities for carrying out field testing and detection for bridges, tunnels and piles. The company has 152 registered staff, 3 senior engineers, 41 engineers, 93 test examiners who all hold professional certificates for testing and detection. The company occupies 1000 square kilometers and owns 100 testing and detection equipment.

Since its establishment, the company has undertaken a large amount of testing and detection tasks for highway construction projects and for bridges and tunnels and laboratory establishment. The service scope covers 16 categories and 120 testing parameters.

With 100% quality and auditing rate and below 1% error rate, the company has been delivering testing and detection reports in a timely manner, which if rated would be 99%. It has a realized customer satisfaction rate in excess of 98%. The company's equipment is 100% available and The calibration rate and alignment rate are respectively 100% and 95%.
